writer + producer
about
credit: India Latham
I find stories, create them, share them. The themes of my work are history, sex, LGBTQ+ experience, politics, art, and the pleasures that are possible with our bodies. I write, produce, perform, talk, collaborate, and dance :)

I'm currently writing a book about recent LGBTQ+ history, producing the Free Sex podcast, and developing/producing various podcast series through my company Aunt Nell. I'm open to new creative collaborations, opportunities, residencies, and a free lunch.

My work has won numerous British Podcast Awards, including Podcast of the Year 2024 and Best Sex and Relationships Podcast for the series Press Play, Turn On, and Best New Podcast (Gold) for The Log Books. My book Deep Sniff: A History of Poppers and Queer Futures won the Polari First Book Prize in 2022. I was supported by Spread The Word with a London Writers Award in 2019-20.
I’m a promiscuous writer and producer—working in podcasts, books, essays, short film and the theatre. I love the live arts, and the wonderful ways that queer artists especially create new worlds for us all. From 2018 to 2022 I was the literature programmer for Fringe! Queer Film and Arts Fest in east London. I have worked as a journalist and social media editor, including at The Economist. I left that job in 2019 to build the creative practice that I now enjoy.

I regularly share my work, especially on LGBTQ+ history, through talks for a range of organisations.
